48 THE LUTHERAN PIONEER.
The Meaning of a Lutheran Education. By A. 0.
Stellhorn. Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis,
Mo. 32 pages. Price, 10 cts.
This is the second edition of this tract. Need we add
that it must be of more than ordinary quality? By all
means, be sure to read it!
The Gem of the Reformation.— Das Kleinod der
Reformation. Concordia Publishing House, St.
Louis, Mo. 32 pages; stiff paper covers; gilt title.
Price, each 15 cts.
This beautiful booklet, which may be had in German
or English, contains the Six Chief Parts of Luther’s Small
Catechism and a series of seven introductory chapters
from the pen of the efficient editor of the Missouri Synod’s
Sunday-school literature, Rev. W. H. Luke. It will prove
an ideal jubilee gift for our children, who will all be
celebrating the quadricentennial of the Small Catechism.
Pastor Luke’s introduction will go far towards increasing
the value of the Catechism in the minds of our children.
Ten full-page illustrations illuminate the text-matter.
The mechanical make-up is splendid and worthy of the
rich contents of the booklet. The price is very rea-
sonable.
Must the Church Surrender to Unbelief? By Dr. W.
H. 7. Dau, President of Valparaiso University. Con-
cordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo. 24 pages.
Price, 5 cts.
This faith-strengthening tract deserves the widest cir-
culation. We thank the Doctor for the encouragement we
have drawn from it.
Winning Souls through Personal Missionary Work.
By John 7. Mueller, Th. D. Concordia Publishing
House, St. Louis, Mo. 16 pages and stiff covers.
Price, 5 cts.
Dr. Mueller makes a strong plea for more personal
effort on the part of our members in winning souls. How
rapidly God’s kingdom would grow if all Christians real-
ized that they are called to be missionaries and that the
need of their personal help is most urgent! Dear reader,
if you wish to become more efficient in your holy calling
as a worker together with Christ, get a copy of this book-
let and prayerfully study it.
Luther’s Small Catechism. Concordia Publishing House,
St. Louis, Mo. Price, 80 cts. a hundred; $3.60 for
500; $6.50 for 1,000. ‘
Here you have the briefest and best handbook of true
Christian doctrine at a price so small that you should
procure a supply for distribution.
Canvass Card. Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis,
Mo. Price, 65 cts. per 100.
Where congregations or societies are contemplating
taking a religious census, samples of this most practical
card should first be sent for. F.J.L.
