THE LUTHERAN PIONEER.

BOOK TABLE.

Noonday Sermons. By J. W. Behnken. Concordia Pub-
lishing House, St. Louis, Mo. Coth-bound. 100 pages.
Price, $1.00.

A volume of sermons preached by the author at the
noonday Lenten services in St. Louis. Clear in thought,
simple in language, and Biblical in contents, these ser-
mons deserve a wide circulation. There must be some-
thing decidedly out of the ordinary in these sermons,
otherwise their author would not have been called upon
to serve during six consecutive years as one of the noori-
day Lenten preachers in that city.

Miles Coverdale. By William Dallmann. Concordia Pub-
lishing House, St. Louis, Mo. Cloth-bound. 164 pages.
Illustrated. Price, 90 cts.

We have here the third printing of Pastor Dallmann’s
interesting biography of the man who did more than any-
body else to acquaint his English compatriots with Lu-
theran doctrine and principles. We are sure that you
would enjoy reading how Lutheranism came to England.

For adult classes it will be impossible to find a better

guide.
Games and Playground Supervision for Lutheran

Schools. By Amelia C. Krug. Concordia Publishing.

House, St. Louis, Mo. Red vellum cloth binding.

148 pages. Price, $1.00.
Had the author asked us before the printing of this
manual about the title of this manual, we should have
ited that she drop the modifying adjective and call
it “School Games and Playground Supervision.” The book
‘deserves to be used everywhere, and we fear that the modi-
fication in the title will prevent many a teacher from ex-
‘mining it. It is by far the most satisfactory book on

ke _ playground supervision and games that we have scen,
