THE LUTHERAN PIONEER.

BOOK TABLE.

Concordia Christmas Cards, 1930 Series. Concordia
Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo. Price, per box of
twenty-five sets of ten cards and envelopes, $3.75,
and postage.

These cards are getting better every year. Each one
of them bears an exclusive, original design in artistic
colors with a simple poetic sentiment, truly Christian in
content, by Prof. W. G. Polack, and a short Christmas
Scripture-text. — The children of our day-schools, Sunday-
and Saturday-schools, are to have the exclusive right of
sale, and all concerned, teachers and pupils, ought to do
their very best to sell these handsome and low-priced
ecards (25 cents a set of ten cards with envelopes), for
in so doing they will help supplant the ordinary card,
generally devoid of the true Christmas spirit, with cards
that bring a real Christian Christmas-greeting. It ought
to be comparatively easy to dispose of these cards, since
the publishers have put their cards on the market so early.

well-known ‘Easter Hallelujah’ by Burhenn.

The Australasian Theological Review. Vol.I, No.1.
Lutheran Publishing Co., Ltd., Adelaide, South Aus-
tralia. Price, 8s. a year.

Our brethren in Australia have found it necessary to

publish this Theological Review to meet local needs. We

can well understand the need for such a publication and-
for it a welcome among our pastors. The number
of tors in our sister synod in Australia being quite

limited, subscriptions in America will be very welcome.

_ The purpose of the periodical is twofold. It is to bring.

doctrinal articles on matters of faith and life and will
report, with comment on past and present, events in the
religious world that are of special interest to the Aus-
tralian Church. The first number of this quarterly brings
a foreword by Dr. C. F. Graebner, an article on “Modernism
and the Bible,” by W. H. Paech; “The Chicago Theses”; an
article by A. Mackenzie on Job 19, 25—27a; “Notes on
the Reservation of the Elements of the Lord’s Supper for
the Use of the Sick,” by J. Darsow; and several historical
and other items. F.J.L.
