station called KFUO; it is at St. Louis. Those
people preach the purest Gospel I ever heard, and
it is nothing but the Gospel. Tune in on KFUO
some time. I think you will enjoy their sermons.’ ”

Millstadt, Il.: “KFUO is the talk of the town.
Protestant and Catholic, all seem to listen in; even
in a saloon owned by a Catholic they tune and
listen in.”

Jefferson City, Mo.: “This town is not a Lu-
theran town, but you would be surprised to see
who the people are that tune in on your broad-
casting services. Some will admit it, others will
not, but nevertheless they listen in.”

Festus, Mo.: “I have heard many an encour-
aging statement here in favor of our broadcasting
station at St. Louis and one disinterested statement.
Business men, even Catholics, who have radio-
receiving sets, have words of high commendation
for our station when I meet with them and, as the
Lutheran pastor, get acquainted with them. One
told me: ‘Isn’t that a wonderful station up there
at the Concordia Seminary? I just enjoy those
wonderful programs.’ Another told me, after ask-
ing whether I belong to the Church (or Synod)
which owns that wonderful station at St. Louis:
‘I tune in on every program. I enjoy those ser-
mons, and they certainly tell you the truth up
there; and they don’t care on whose toes they
step.’ The same business man, a Catholic, said:
‘That Professor can picture anything before
your eyes in a manner that you cannot help but
understand him, and you cannot deny the truth
of his statements.? A Methodist and a Baptist
layman told me the same.”

This is what others say regarding KFUO.
Certainly “The Gospel Voice” is a far-reaching
missionary agency. It is a wonderful instrument
in the hands of God to send the streams of living
waters into many a barren heart and home which
otherwise would remain dry as sand. Yes, many
a home and many a city heard the pure Gospel of
the merciful Savior for the first time through the
instrumentality of our St. Louis radio station, and
thus KFUO deserves to be called a Lutheran
pioneer. H. H. H.
