This request for a transfer from the English District
to the SELC District has the approval of both District
Presidents.

To Require Eastern District to
Recognize Acting Pres. Albert Bahr

WHEREAS, The majority of the Board of Trustees of
the Eastern District has refused to comply with the
removal of Dr. Herman Frincke as President of the
Eastern District by duly constituted synodical authori-
ty; and

WHEREAS, The majority of the Board of Trustees of
the Eastern District has allowed and encouraged Dr.
Herman Frincke to continue to function as the
President of the Eastern District; and

WHEREAS, The majority of the Board of Trustees of
the Eastern District has refused to recognize the office
of Acting President Albert Bahr or to cooperate with
President Bahr in the activities of his office; and

WHEREAS, The majority of the Board of Trustees of
the Eastern District has consistently failed to heed
patient brotherly advice and admonition from the
President of the Synod and the synodical Board of
Directors; and

WHEREAS, The position of the majority of the Board
of Trustees of the Eastern District has resulted in
division and discord among the congregations of the
Eastern District, hindering the work of mission and
ministry; therefore be it

Resolved, That the members of the Board of
Trustees of the Eastern District be directed to uphold
and abide by the Constitution and Bylaws of the
Synod; and be it further

Resolved, That the members of the Board of
Trustees of the Eastern District be directed to recognize
the office of Acting President Albert Bahr and to
cooperate with him in all of the activities of his office;
and be it further

Resolved, That the members of the Board of
Trustees of the Eastern District be directed to dis-
associate former President Herman Frincke from the
activities and prerogatives of the office of District
President; and be it further

Resolved, That the members of the Board of
Trustees of the Eastern District be directed to in-

dividually state their willingness to comply with the
terms of this resolution to the Synod’s Board of
Directors within 30 days of the conclusion of this
convention; and be it further
Resolved, That if a member of the Board of Trustees
of the Eastern District cannot in good conscience
comply with the terms of this resolution, he shall resign
from the Board of Trustees of the Eastern District; and
be it further
Resolved, That if such stated compliance or resigna-
tion is not forthcoming within the period specified, the
offices of those individuals who have refused to comply
or resign shall be declared vacant by the Synod’s Board
of Directors; and be it finally
Resolved, That the acting President of the Eastern
District be directed to appoint individuals from the
appropriate regions within the District to fill any such
vacancies on the Board of Trustees.

To Receive Ascension, Corunna, Ont.,
into Membership

We, the undersigned, being appointed to represent
our congregation in this matter, respectfully request
that The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod accept
this church, “Ascension Evangelical Lutheran
Church,” into its membership at the regular synodical
convention in Dallas, Tex.

In accord with the appropriate regulations, the
constitution of this congregation has been submitted to
the District Constitutions Committee and has received
its full approval. This application for membership is
accompanied with the approval of the administration
of the Ontario District.
