PRESIDENT’S REPORT 65
Christ the strength and the courage that we need not
only for our personal lives, but for our life together
in The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod.
As you listen to the reports of the various boards,
commissions, and committees of Synod, I am sure you
will thrill again and again to hear of the wonderful and
dedicated work that is being done by thousands of peo-
ple in North America and throughout the world. My
only prayer for our church today is that we may be
faithful to His Holy Word, faithful to the precious Gos-
pel of our Lord Jesus Christ, faithful to our calling as
His servants, and faithful to the needs of a dying world.
No better words can express the feeling that I know
lives and flourishes in the hearts of each one of us than
the words of the hymn which forms our theme at this
convention: EVER, ONLY, ALL FOR THEE.
Take my life and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in
ceaseless praise.
Take my hands and let them move At the impulse of
Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be Swift and beautiful for
Thee.
Take my voice and let me sing Always, only for my
King;
Take my lips and let them be Filled with messages
from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I with-
hold;
Take my intellect and use Every power as Thou shalt
choose.
Take my will and make it Thine, It shall be no longer
mine;
Take my heart, it-is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal
throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour At Thy feet its trea-
sure store;
Take myself, and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee.
J. A. O. Preus
