MINUTES OF THE CONVENTION
Special Greetings
Mr. Brad Hewitt brought greetings from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, reminding the convention of the long
history and relationship of Thrivent’s parent organizations
with the Synod and our common Lutheran heritage. He
highlighted some of the ways in which Thrivent has been
able to support the LCMS and its congregations, including
a $500,000 grant in support of Fan Into Flame.
Committee 9: Registration, Credentials, and Elections
Convention chaplain Dean Wenthe was asked to lead
the convention in prayer prior to the continuation of the
election process. Committee 9 Chairman Larry Harvala
then proceeded to complete the process of runoff elections
as necessary.
