Afternoon Session
85. The Committee now reviewed the galley proofs of the revised HANDBOOK,
After some minor corrections had been noted and accepted the question was
raised whether the dutiesandthe functions of the Executive Director of The
Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod should be made a part of the HANDBOOK,
whether this should be done simply by noting where these duties and functions
could be found in the 1962 PROCEEDINGS, whether a Summary of these duties
and functions should be included in the HANDBOOK, or whether the duties and
functions should be printed verbatim.
86, It was agreed that the duties of the Executive Director of The Lutheran
Church - Missouri Synod should be included verbatim in the Synodical HANDBOOK,
87, This discussion resulted in the decision to include in the HANDBOOK
also the paragraphs adopted by the Synod concerning the duties of the Controller;
the Department of Research and Statistics; the Personnel Department; the
Work Program Conference, the Council ‘of Administrators, etc, -This will increase
the bulkiness of the Synod's HANDBOOK, but it was thought that this was
warranted in order to present a complete record of the administrative changes
that had been voted by the Convention of the Synod,
