We have reviewed the situation and have decided that our conclusions were sound.
You still have the right to appeal. The appeal may well go in your favor. But even if that were to
happen, it is quite possible that the congregation may not accept you as its pastor.
You have not been expelled or suspended from membership in the Synod. Since you are
recognized as a c.r.m. you are eligible for a call.
54. Southern District Articles of Incorporation (Ag. 1484, A-C): The Commission approved these Articles
of Incorporation and requested that it be notified when the Articles have been ratified by the District.
55. Relation of LCEF to the Synod (Ag. 1542, A,B): The Commission indicated satisfaction with the
communication from the LCEF that it had amended Article VII of its Articles of Incorporation to indicate
that the LCEF is subject to the Constitution and Bylaws of the Synod.
56. Membership of LCEF (Ag. 1544, A-C): Since the pattern of membership in the LCEF is confusing,
the CCM had asked that group to develop a simple and clear statement that could be incorporated in the
Handbook of the Synod. Phil Draheim has reported that the LCEF is working on this.
57. LCEF Inclusion in Bylaw 8.09, a. (Ag. 1595, A): Since Phil Draheim, in answer to the
communication from the CCM, had indicated that the LCEF should indeed be included in that bylaw, the
Commission resolved to recommend such inclusion to the next convention of the Synod.
58. Bohlmann Reply re BPS and its Executive Secretary (Ag. 1578, B): The Commission took note of
President Bohlmann's gratitude for an explanation of the action taken by the CCM.
59. Organization of Stewardship and Financial Support Department (Ag. 1583, A-C) : Correspondence, as
a follow-up to the previous meeting of the CCM, was shared with the CCM. No further review has been
requested as yet of the CCM regarding the organization chart, etc. The CCM will await such a request.
60. C-N-H District Mission Statement (Ag. 1585): The Commission ratified the reply of the Secretary to
Pastor William F. Grunow that his concerns were more of a theological than of a constitutional nature.
61. Announcement of Tallies (Ag. 1586): In answer to a request from Rev. Harold Patzer Secretary of the
Ontario District, the Secretary had indicated that he might wish to ask the convention in its first session
whether it wished to hear the tallies. The District then might also wish to bring its practice into
conformity with that of the Synod. The Commission ratified this reply.
62. Dissolution of Districts (Ag. 1590): Phil Draheim had answered Robert Hirsch's letter regarding a
proper paragraph on the dissolution of Districts. Apparently Mr. Hirsch was proposing a version to the
South Dakota District convention. Since the Secretary had been copied by Phil Draheim, he had written to
Draheim, enclosing the model paragraph on dissolution which the CCM had adopted already in May of
1966. The Commission took note of this correspondence.
63. Blanket Subscription to Lutheran Witness (Ag. 1601): Rev. Louis Rush of the Constitution
Committee of the Northwest District had requested information and counsel. Pilgrim of Beaverton,
Oregon, had asked whether a District Board of Directors could countermand the resolution of a
convention that the District continue to pay for a blanket subscription for congregations to The Lutheran
Witness. The Commission decided to postpone this matter until the next meeting and to request in the
meantime a copy of previous convention resolutions, a copy of the District budget, and a copy of the audit
report.
