245, A communication was presented by Dr, Albert E, Meyer,
Executive Officer of Concordia Collegiate Institute at Bronxville, New York,
The question at issue concerned itself with the confusion regarding the term
of office of the Board of Control because of Biennial instead of Triennial
Conventions, It was agreed to inform Doctor Meyer that this entire matter
is being referred to Legel Counselor Kuhlmann,
246, Doctor Meyer had also inquired whether it is constitutionally
allowable for a person to serve as an elected member of a Board of Control
and as an elected member of a Board of Directors of a District,'' The
Commission was unanimous in agreeing that this would be in violation of
Section 2,15 of the Synodical HANDBOOK,
247, It was agreed that the Secretary address Concordia Publishing
House with a request to supply a One-Page Bibliograpy calling attention to
helpful stewardship materials,
248, The Secretary reported that he had relayed to the Secretaries of
the Districts of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod the Commission's
request for copies of District Constitutions and Bylaws. Some responses
had been received,
249, It was agreed that the next meeting of the Commission should be
scheduled for January or February of 1965,
250. Commission Member Berner was of the opinion that it would be
helpful if the members of the Commission would receive copies of official
communications sent by the Chairman or the Secretary before the date of
the Commission's meeting.
