128. Questions re Nominations (Ag. 1608 and 1641): After noting that Secretary Mueller had raised the
question about the eligibility of certain members of the Commission on Adjudication (Ag. 1608) and that
this same question had now also been raised by the Committee for Convention Nominations, the
Commission addressed itself to the three questions raised by that committee. The questions and the
Commission's answers follow:
1. Is a pastor emeritus eligible for election to a board or commission of the Synod? Answer: Yes,
except where a parish pastor is specified.
2. Do incumbents need to be nominated in order to have their names placed on the ballot for
reelection, and in that same vein, do they need to file a consent to serve form? Answer:
Absolutely.
3. Are Earl Elowsky, Roger Humann, and Robert Doggett eligible for reelection to the
Commission on Adjudication? Answer: Since these three were elected and not appointed, the
Commission agreed that under the former bylaws these could be eligible for three terms and
could therefore serve one additional term if nominated and elected.

it was decided to close the file and remove the item from the agenda.
131. Florissant Dual Membership (Ag. 1592, 'A) : Since this case had now been decided by the
Commission on Appeals, it was resolved to close the file also on this matter and to remove it from the
agenda.
