372. Koehneke Appeal (Ag. 191): It has become apparent from the Workbook that River Forest will not
ask for an overruling of our opinion on the procedures involved in charging faculty members but is
making a proposal of its own to the convention. It was therefore agreed to drop this item from the agenda.
373. Election of Delegates Ag. 208); This was included in the commission's review of the overtures
presented in the Workbook.
374. Ohio District Bylaws (Ag. 236): This had been reassigned in the previous meeting to Luessenhop
and Sommermeyer.
375. Voting Powers of Women: The commission approved the letter which the secretary had written to
Mr. Terry DeViney, chairman of Unity Lutheran Church, Cleveland, relaying the information that the
commission had ruled on a previous occasion that even though the synodical resolution placed a
limitation on the offices which a woman could hold in the congregation the same resolution placed no
limitation on the voting privileges of women in those congregations which chose to extend voting
privileges to them (Ag. 253).
376. Full Time District President (Ag. 254): The secretary distributed a sheet, for information purposes,
listing the responsibilities of a full time District President as formulated by the Southern Illinois District.
377. Ruth Kuenne: He also read a letter of thanks from Ruth Kuenne (Ag.255).
378. Layton Park Congregation, Milwaukee: He distributed the constitution of this congregation for
information purposes (Ag. 256).
379. Doctrinal Resolutions: Some time was spent discussing in an informal way a document which
Reverend W. Grunow of San Leandro, California had sent to the secretary for his personal reactions with
reference to the status of doctrinal resolutions. No action was taken since this matter was not formally
before the commission, although some endorsements and some reservations were expressed (Ag. 258).
380. Guidelines: The commission took up correspondence between Herb Kuenne and Dr. Dorn of CPH
and decided to inform Dr. Dorn that we will try to prepare a set of principles and basic considerations for
congregational constitutions and bylaws together with four or five samples of different types--all of this to
be published in one brochure together with a sample set of Articles of Incorporation (Ag. 259).
381. Workbook: Part of the Friday and all of the Saturday sessions were devoted to a resume of reports
and overtures in the Workbook, Chapter 5, and part of Chapter 4.
