267. Meetings: The Commission decided upon the following meeting dates: February 18-19, 9 a.m., St.
Louis; April 1-2, 10 a.m.; June 17-18.
268. Circuit Cabinets: Reverend William Adam of Bonfield, Illinois had inquired whether Districts could
have circuit cabinets since the Handbook does not require them. The Secretary had answered in the
affirmative. This reply was approved (Ag. 2.15).
269. Special Committee for St. Louis Seminary: Reverend N. W. Ott of Orange, California had written
that one member of the congregation had asked that the President of the Synod appoint a committee to
look into the situation at the St. Louis Seminary and inquired whether this could be done. Kuenne had
replied that the CCM had already ruled on this in response to a request from the President. This reply was
approved (Ag. 211).
270. Unchangeable Articles: The Commission approved letters on the question of unchangeable articles
which Kuenne had sent to Reverend William Mohlenhoff (Ag. 227), Reverend George E. Schubarth (Ag.
228), Reverend Gordon W. Giese (Ag. 207).
271. Collections: The Commission concluded formally that it saw no conflict between 9.71, 9.73, and
2.85 c 2 (Ag. 7).
272. Overseas Congregations: The Commission decided to remove from its agenda the question of the
constitutions of overseas congregations of servicemen since the CTCR had apparently removed the
question from its own agenda (Ag. 26, 26A, 56, 56A).
273. Nebraska-Wyoming: The Commission took note of the report on the proposed bylaws of the
Nebraska and Wyoming District. The item was removed from the agenda until the bylaws are submitted
for review (Ag. 168, 168A, 168B).
274. A. W. Herrmann: It was agreed that no further action was needed on this letter inquiring about
church discipline (Ag. 174).
275. Minnesota South: The Commission took note of the proposed reorganization chart for this District.
No action required (Ag. 185).
276. Shelby, Michigan: The Commission approved the Secretary's letter recommending that this
congregation seek legal advice in developing articles of incorporation (Ag. 186).
277. "Geeignet": The members took note of the word study on "expedient" for future consideration (Ag.
188).
278. Congregational Rights: It also showed interest in a memo concerning a court case in Long Beach,
California in which it was held that a congregation cedes certain rights when it joins the Synod (Ag. 189).
279. District Terms of Office: The Secretary was asked to provide for the next meeting a report on the
Detroit convention action with respect to this question and also the opinion which the Commission on
Constitutional Matters had given to the Eastern District 2 or 3 years ago (Ag. 190).
280. Koehneke: The Commission agreed to keep on the docket the report that President Koehneke would
seemingly ask the convention to reverse the Commission's opinion on the steps involved in bringing
accusations against an instructor (Ag. 191).
