Assorted Scripture lessons were read and short addresses given by the following overseas presidents: Andrew Chiu (Hong Kong), Nelson Unwene (Nigeria), Johannes Gedrat (Brazil), Paul Fynn (Ghana), G. Thomas Edward (India). The principal address was given by Dr. Owald C. J. Hoffmann of St. Louis. Other brief talks were also given by Don Johnson (native American ministry), Paul Single (blind/deaf ministries), and Leticia Godoy (His- panic ministry). The delegates had been asked in advance to solicit, from the congregations they represented, gifts for the new ministry among Indochinese refugees in the camps in Hong Kong. It was reported later that in excess of $43,000 had been placed on the offering plate at the mission rally. On four successive mornings during the convention Dr. Oswald Hoffmann also gave dynamic lectures on the mission book of the Scriptures, the Acts of the Apostles. Each session was concluded witha short time devoted to small-group discussions on the part of dele- gates and visitors wherever they happened to be seated. A follow-up series of Bible studies will be made available to all congregations of the Synod. Stinieietneneeneenes ee Te tent ert me on es - and speaker at the Mission Rally 79
