St. Paul's Lutheran Church Bremen, Ind. William E. Helmlinger, Chairman pro-tem Dan L. Miller, Secretary Raymond A. Mueller, Pastor Identical or similar: 35-176B Trinity, New Haven, Mo. Orville Meyer 5-177 To Set Aside All Actions Resulting from Abolition of Two-Thirds Voting Procedure At the New Orleans convention a motion was passed to eliminate the two-thirds vote requirement. According to Robert's Rules of Order. such a vote itself required a two-thirds majority to pass. When the vote was tabulated as given in the Proceedings (pp. 30, 34, 128), it was a simple majority. The parliamentarian declared the vote valid. The CCM has upheld the validity of his ruling contrary to accepted parliamentary practice. Because of this irregularity havoc has been turned loose in the Synod when subsequently Resolutions 3-01, “A Statement”: 3-09, “Faculty Majority in Error”: and 3-12A, “The Tietjen Matter" were passed: therefore We ask the Anaheim convention to review this matter: We further ask that the convention declare all actions as listed above (3-01, 3-09, 3-12A) be declared illegally passed and rescind them.
