Report of Committee 9 (as amended):

Wuereas, The present English edition of the Synodical Hand-
book was prepared as a temporary English edition until Synod
should decide to “publish a thoroughly revised new edition of the
Handbook, in which antiquated regulations are eliminated and
the present amended and clearly worded rulings are properly
arranged and coordinated” (see Preface, pages IV and V); there-
fore be it

Resolved, That a committee of eleven competent men shall
be appointed which shall prepare, after due study and considera-~
tion, a new, complete, and authoritative edition of the Synodical
Handbook, containing all the synodical regulations, properly ar-
ranged, coordinated, indexed, and in idiomatic English form, in
which all antiquated rulings are eliminated, all ambiguous and
contradictory regulations are adjusted, the duties and respons-

Action of Synod: This resolution was adopted, with the addi-
tional provision that the President of Synod insert a request in our
church organs for suitable suggestions for this committee.
