We have come to take the manifold duties of our faculties and synodical workers with a matter of fact complacency; but your Board believes that a word of gratitude and praise for the cheerful manner in which the additional burdens were assumed during this triennium by the members of our faculty is well in place. Board of Control. — Changes took place also in the member- ship of the Board of Control. Shortly after the Cleveland Con- vention Rev. W.E. Hohenstein relinquished the Presidency of the Central Illinois District and was succeeded by Rev. J.C. Schuelke of Peoria, who assumed the chairmanship of the Board. Droste and E. W. Schulze, were added to the Board. Regular monthly and special meetings, whenever required, were held, and the affairs of the institution were conducted in the manner demanded by the interests of Synod and the welfare of the institution. As they became necessary, repairs and improvements were made.
