Closing Following the orders of the day, which called for adjournment, the session was closed with a prayer led by Dr. Edwin Weber, First Vice-President of the Synod. Session 15 July 11, Afternoon Opening The final session of the convention opened with the singing of a hymn and with prayer led by Dr. Preus. The Rev. Oscar Gerken asked for the privilege of leading the delegates in prayer for Pastor Dubberke, who was not as seriously ill as previously reported. He was asked to include also the family of Mrs. Herbert Krieger, who had died during the time of the convention sessions.
