The Radio Award for 1972 by the American Optometric Association was won by KFUO's Brad Holiday, with a spe- cial award to Anita Colombo. The program was a documen- tary on contact lenses. KFUO installed a new AM transmitter in April 1972 and is presently in the process of getting FCC permission to install a new 100 K.W. FM stereo transmitter, which is maximum power. This will increase the quality of and ex- tend our signal considerably. The Operating Board and Department Heads are giving serious thought and study to religious and musical programs, and it is hoped to disband the simulcast programming on installation of new FM stereo transmitter, programming AM and FM stations separately. The Task Force appointed by Synod's Board of Directors as resolved in the 49th regular convention of the LCMS held in Milwaukee, Wis., July 9—~16, 1971, and KFUO’'s repre- sentative members of the Operating Board of KFUO have completed their study and their recommendations will be presented in a resolution to the 50th regular convention of the LCMS at New Orleans, La., July 6—12, 1973. This over- ture appears elsewhere in the Convention WorKBOOK. Our blessings have been many, the loval voluntary sup- port of our listeners and friends, gifts from legaeies and bequests have been a vital factor in our financial picture, and we thank God and the Holy Spirit for having inspired these people to include KFUO in the distribution of their earthly possessions. As we look to the future, we pause to thank God for the past and ask your prayers and interest in the continued growth and service to our fellowmen and His kingdom. O. H.
