The local board of your college and theological Seminary at Springfield, Ill, be&s leave to submit the following report and state. ment of the needs and requirements at the institution. We have again been permitted to enjoy our heavenly Father’s grace and blessing in full measure during the past three years, and last year we were able to look back over eighty-five years of blessed service in preparing young men for the holy ministry in our beloved Church. The Lord has been gracious to us. He has preserved us from calamities; He has guarded, guided, and blessed professors and stu- dents, so that the work at our institution could proceed without inter- ruption. The building, having already housed two other colleges previously to the time it was taken over by Synod fifty-six years ago, had become a positive menace, and the Board of Directors concurred in the opinion of the local board that the building should be razed. (Synod realized $250 from the wrecking of the building.) This building had housed the library, and it became necessary to remodel one of the frame buildings to take care of the library until the much-needed Administration Building could be erected. 9rounds 4 a
