Will you help to bring him into the blessed Lutheran Zion, where he and his children may sit at the feet of Christian pastors and teachers and learn those things that will make him a fit citizen for both this world and the world to come? As you read these lines, think of his struggles from 1619 to 1932, with almost every hand against him. What will the finished portrait be? R.0.L. L. BOOK TABLE. (By the Ep1Tor.) Bible Difficulties. An Examination of Passages of the Bible Alleged to. Be Irreconcilable with Its Inspira- tion. By W.Arndt. Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo. Durable cloth binding; 117 pages. Price, 75 cts. In a very clear and interesting way the author treats subjects like these: The Miracles and the Bible; Moral Difficulties; Historical Difficulties; Scientific Difficulties; Miscellaneous Difficulties. A careful reading of this little book will go far towards strengthening the faith of the timid Christian in the inerrancy of the Scriptures. We know that the Bible is true in all its statements; but there is some satisfaction in being able to meet the objec- tions of the enemies of Holy Scripture by means of argu- ments so convincingly presented in this little volume by Dr. Arndt. The Festivals and Sacrifices of Israel. Compiled from the Mosaic Regulations. By William Moenke- moeller. Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo. Paper; 40 pages. Price, 20 cts. This pamphlet is of permanent value, and it is a pity that it was not found practicable to publish it in perma- nent binding. Pastors and teachers will find this mono- graph a reliable treatise on the festivals and sacrifices of Israel as prescribed by Moses at the command of God. There are few men among us better acquainted with the Old Testament laws and usages than Professor Moenke- moeller, who for years has made Old Testament history his special study. The Male Church-Choir. By J.C. Wohlfel. Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo. Price, 30 cts. The Male Church-Choir contains thirteen hymns for different occasions. Male-choir leaders looking for rather easy selections will in this selection, we believe, find just what they want. The publishers hold out the promise of another similar collection if this series meets with & reasonable welcome. We hope it may. Concordia Collection of Sacred Choruses and An- thems for More Ambitious Choral Organiza- tions. No.24: My God, Why hast Thou Yorsaken Me? (Mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen?) By J. A. W. Wiersig. No. 25: Come, O Come, Thou Holy Spirit. (Komm, o komm, du Geist des Lebens.) By J. O. Wohlfeil. Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo. Price, each 15 cts. These selections are intended for mixed choirs. The former contains a duet for soprano and alto. Both are of moderate difliculty. Contributions Received by the Treasurer.
