Questions on Christian Topics. By Carl Manthey-Zorn. Third Edition. Northwestern Publishing House, Mil- waukee, Wis. 335 pages. Price, 60 cts. Order from Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo. It does not surprise us that this translation of Dr. Zorn’s Christenfragen is seeing its third edition. The chapters treat live questions of the day in a live way, and Pastor Rimbach has rendered a fluent translation of the original. But should this edition not have brought the history of the Lutheran Church in America up to date? We feel that cognizance should have been taken of the merger of the General Synod, the General Council, and the United Synod in the South as well as the more recent merger of Ohio, Iowa, and Buffalo. The reviewer should also have been pleased to see reference made to the Norwegian and Swedish Lutheran organizations. But these strictures are of very minor importance. We can only say, If you haven’t this book on your shelf, you are without a very handy book of reference. By Wm. Dallmann. Con- How Peter Became Pope.
