182 THE LUTHERAN PIONEER.

A Bedroom in a Former Schoolroom.
Notice the crowded condition of the room. The beds are single beds, but each one is

occupied by two girls. Help us secure larger and better quarters for our future teachers.

. Future Lutheran Teachers at Work in the Subterranean Laundry.

This place looks more like a dungeon than a laundry. The former schoolhouse was converted into a home
for the girls; a hole was dug under the building. This hole is the laundry and lavatory.
