In our classrooms we: can accommodate w 130 comfortably. We strongly urge our pastors and congrega to encourage their members to come to Immanuel for a go Christian education and preparation for life, even if they do wish to become pastors and teachers. The millions of Negro who are still without a knowledge of their Savior require all us to include this vast field in our prayer “Thy kingdom com Sincere and systematic effort must be made now on the part the faculties, the pastors, and the families in our congregationg to provide consecrated students who will devote their. lives pastors and teachers in the Lord’s vineyard. Our constant prayer. is for such whole-hearted co-operation in providing laborers for” the harvest. In addition, we ask your objective and constructiy thinking and speaking about I.L.C. and its mission endeavor, -: We would also like to mention here that although our school, was originally built for and restricted to Negro students, for the past several years our doors have been open to people of all races, and this past year we had our first white student in our dormitory. He is a first year seminarian from Fairlawn, N. J. Another Negro student who completed his Junior College training at St. Paul’s College, Concordia, Mo., also enrolled in our first year seminary class this past year. Thus God is showing us how Immanuel has served and will continue to serve the Church in its own way to 4 bring salvation to souls through the grace of our Lord Jesus 4 Christ. Finances Immanuel College has operated well within its budget again the last two years. President Kampschmidt has handled all the finances and kept the student accounts, made all disbursements, and had the responsibility of all buying and supervision of the boarding department. Mr. Colle Toenes, a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Greensboro, has again shown his love for the Lord by giving valuable assistance to President Kampschmidt, periodically checking the accounts and submitting financial state- ments to the board of control and the Missionary Board. We are truly grateful for his generous service. The Future of LL. Cc. In February ofthis year our board invited the board of con- trol of Alabama Lutheran Academy-College of Selma, Ala., to meet with us at I.L.C. to discuss matters of mutual interest to both schools. Dr. Kurth was also present for this meeting. The joint meeting was very profitable, and future meetings are planned to develop certain phases of co-ordination between the schools and: the mission field as it: pertains to the curriculum, student recruitment, school personnel, policies,.and the like.
