Since the latter project re- quired more money than the Committee allowed, the Parent- Teacher Association and local friends came to the rescue and sup- plied the balance needed. The P.T.A. also furnished some needed and appreciated playground equipment. Careful preparations were made for Commencement week. Twelve eighth-graders received their diplomas, and a Negro attorney, father of one of the pupils of the school, delivered the commencement address. During commencement week registrations were also received for the next school year. The future of the Lutheran Co-operative School has become considerably brighter. To God alone be all glory! Floor Committee Report on the Report of the Missionary Board (Committee: Pastors Paul Bretscher, Carl L. Abel, A. Kuehnert, Clemence Sabourin, Henry J. Vogel, Gustav O. Krause, Julian Anderson, Jaroslav Majoros; Messrs. George Nolte, R. H. Polzin, William Kowalke, Christian Olsen, William Hays.) The Missionary Lutheran 1. We recognize the precious value the Missionary Lutheran has had in the past, in promoting interest in Synodical Conference mission work among our people and in providing stimulating spiritual literature for our Negro brethren. 2. We recognize, however, that the movement toward integra- tion of Negro work with the work of the District Synods is tending to make the Missionary Lutheran obsolete as a separate publication. 3. We feel that the regular organs of the Synods of the Synodi- cal Conference should endeavor to carry more news of general interest and information from the Negro mission fields; and that District Supplements, where they exist, should also promote interest in this work as done in the respective districts. 4, Nevertheless we recognize that for a limited time the Mis- sionary Lutheran will still be needed, particularly in those fields where districts or synods are not ready to assume this work from the Synodical Conference. Therefore we recommend that its pub- lication be continued as at present. d. We recommend that the Missionary Board of the Synodical Conference be asked to study ways and means of bringing the regular synodical organs and supplements, containing also news on Negro missions, into all Negro Lutheran homes—also and especially in those areas where the work is still the responsibility of the Synodical Conference —in order that the general publica- tion(s) may then take the place of the Missionary Lutheran. We feel that this is an essential part of the integration program already in progress and will promote among all members of the Synodical Conference a wider appreciation of the work of the church at large.
