Eph. 4: 1-3: “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthily of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” "Action by the convention: The convention adopted the com- mittee’s recommendation. Report of the Standing Committee on Intersynodical Relations Regarding the Presidential Address The Presidential Address, prepared and read to the Forty-First Convention of the Synodical Conference by Vice-President Ylvi- saker, was referred to the Standing Committee on Intersynodical Relations. We acknowledge in Vice-President Ylvisaker’s report an evi- dence of sincere concern for the welfare of God’s kingdom and for the continued unity of the spirit, based on the truth of God’s Word, within the Synodical Conference. We acknowledge the right and duty of any brother in the Syn- odical Conference, and particularly of the officers of the Confer- ence, to call attention to matters of doctrine and practice within the Synodical Conference which are troubling us ard threatening the unity existing between the synods of the Synodical Conference. Since most of the problems touched upon in the Presidential Address of Dr. Ylvisaker, as viewed by him, have been, and are still being, discussed by the Interim Committee and the Committee on Intersynodical Relations; be it therefore ‘Resolved, That these. Committees of the Synodical Conference continue their efforts to solve these questions in a God-pleasing manner; be it further Resolved, That the above-named Committees be encouraged to keep the membership of the Synodical Conference informed on the progress of their discussions. ; Action by the convention: The convention adopted these reso- utions. In the course of the discussion of the Floor Committee report on the report of the Intersynodical Relations Committee a request for additional information on the subject of Prayer Fellowship was made from the floor. In response the convention adopted the fol- ‘lowing resolution: Resolved, That the presiding officers of this convention en- deavor to arrange for a panel discussion or open forum to be con- vened at the next convention, at which time the contrasting views of a distinction between “Prayer Fellowship” and “Joint Prayer” shall be presented by qualified leaders and then discussed by the attending delegates. .
