(Conclusion.) By way of introduction the essayist referred back to his presentation made four years ago at Seward, Nebr. There, on the basis of Eph. 3:12–4:2, he had shown (see Report XXIII, p. 5): the titles of Christians state what glorious people God by grace, through the Gospel, has made of Christians, and name glorious tasks which they have been equipped and called to perform. The work to which they, because of their old Adam, still often have to be quite earnestly exhorted, even through their titles of honor, is not degrading slave labor but honorable divine service, for which Christians draw the necessary strength from the Word of God.
