The parliamentarian and queue manager also implemented a greater degree of queue preservation across secondary motions.) 39 Greetings—Concordia Historical Institute 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 The Rev. Dr. Daniel Harmelink brought greetings and thanks for the support of the Synod for the preservation and proclamation, the treasuring and trumpeting of the Synod’s history, the redeeming work of the risen and ascended Christ in the work and life of the church. The mission of Concordia Historical Institute (CHI) is to call the Synod to remember, truly, who she is. Recalling our history is not only God-pleasing but essential. Preserving and honoring the history of Christ’s saving work among us keeps us from imagining it was by our own work or wisdom that have made us what we are. CHI serves that corporate memory in a variety of ways, treasuring and trumpeting, providing 20,000 linear feet of historical materials, some four million documents. Harmelink invited the delegates to explore their Lutheran history—and to join CHI in treasuring and trumpeting the same—especially as the observance of CHI’s centenary of service approaches next year. 2026 Convention Minutes — Sessions 5 and 6 — Page 5
