Staggered Terms of Office for New Mission Boards and Commission on Handbook (11-020) Amid the changes adopted by the 2010 Synod convention to the structure of the Synod, eliminating program boards and some commissions and creating new mission boards and a Commission on Handbook, no attention was given to staggering terms of new board members. As assigned by the commission at its December 2011 meeting, Secretary Hartwig provided a proposal to the commission detailing how this might be accomplished. The commission approved of the proposal offered and asked the Secretary to bring a draft of a proposed 2013 convention overture including proposed bylaw changes to the next meeting of the commission.
