Regarding the future regulation of salaries, it was resolved: The
professors' salaries shall be determined from time to time by the
respective electing bodies, on the recommendation of, and with the
consent of, the General Board of Oversight.

The salaries of the stewards are likewise regulated by the General
Board of Oversight in conjunction with the electing body (expanded
board of oversight) of the institution concerned.

B. Concerning the Household Budgets.

For the relief of the household budgets, the professors' conference
had made a recommendation (p. 47 of the printed memorials). The synod
met this recommendation to the extent of resolving to pay a fireman
and janitor at each institution from the synodical treasury. The
request to cover the costs of heating and of physical-education
instruction from the synodical treasury was, however, declined.
