One congregation had forbidden its teacher, who had been elected delegate of a teachers' election district, to make the trip to the Synod. The teacher was excused on account of his absence, but the congregation was fraternally rebuked; for as a member of the Synod it has made it the teachers' duty as well to send representatives to the synodical assembly, and so it cannot rightly prevent its own teacher from carrying out such a duty.
