They all live here in Texas—my 91-year-old mother, who is here today, my father-in-law and mother-in-law, son Andrew and daughter Angie, her husband Todd and their two children Kolby and Kayla. We love you, miss you and hold you in our hearts and prayers always. One final word of thanks and appreciation is expressed to my dear wife, Terry, who has stood faithfully by my side for 411⁄2 years. Those years, especially the past six, have been filled with abundant grace, joys, blessings, and exciting adventures, along with challenges, pressures, and stresses of many kinds. Terry bears in her heart a deep respect and abiding love for the Lord and for His Church, expressed as a very active volunteer who travels, extensively, often with me and sometimes without me, representing the 2007 Convention Proceedings LCMS at congregations, conferences, retreats, and other venues. Thank you, Terry, for your love, support, patience, forgiveness, and faithfulness to me and for your support of the women of our church, particularly the wives of pastors and other professional church workers, and especially the wives of the Council of Presidents and pastors of our Synod. I am very proud, humbly of course, of the first lady of our Synod! A final word from the apostle Paul: I thank my God every time I remember you . . . being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:3, 6) Thank you and God bless each and every one of you, dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Gerald B. Kieschnick, President
