Recess Session 9 July 18, 2007 Afternoon Devotion President Gerald Kieschnick called on convention chaplain Dean Wenthe to introduce the devotion leader, Dr. Philip Campbell, Executive Director of the Board for Black Ministry Services. In his meditation, “Applauding for Life in Christ,” Dr. Campbell recalled applauding soldiers in the St. Louis airport on their way to Iraq, applauding in hope that they were marching off to war with Christ in their hearts.
