While it was suggested that Ov. 7- 87, which was originally referred to the President of Synod, be brought before the convention it was, by amendment, referred to the Blue Ribbon Committee. A motion to delete Ov. 3-68 was de- clined ‘and Ov. 7-95 was deleted.) ‘RESOLUTION B Rationale: ; : — Over the years the Synod in convention has spoken to many issues. At times it has found it necessary to restate its position because of misunderstanding or because there was an expressed desire to change the stated position of the Synod. _dt is clearly not physically possible to debate and discuss, in detail, every issue which has been decided in one or more previous conventions of the Synod. Again at this conven- tion a nuniber of issues have been presented through over- tures to which the Synod, in convention, has previously spo- ken. After careful consideration of these matters, there appears to be no valid reason to change or alter the stated position of the Synod. __ Resolved, That petitioners offering the following over- tures be referred to previous convention action as indicated: Number Subject ' Previous Action Ov. 3-15 ‘Communion at Accidental Assemblies —_ Indianapolis, 1986, Res. 3-08 Ov. 3-34-36, | Unionism, Union and Fellowship, Article VI, 2 3-38 Rom. 16:17-18 1932 Brief Statement Detroit, 1965, Res. 2-16 New York, 1967, Res, 2-18 Denver, 1969, Res. 3-18 Ov. 3-109 Doctrine and Moral Issues New Orleans, 1973, Res. 3-01 - Ov. 4-10 Balanced Budget/Synodical Debt St. Louis, 1983, Res. 4-05 . .
