To » Encourage Congregations to Apply
Themselves to Study of Christology

WuEREAS, The Gospel is first and foremost the Gospel of
Jesus Christ the Lord; and

WHEREAS, True doctrine in all its articles centers i in the
person and work of Christ; and

_ WHEREAS, The LCMS appears to be troubled by confu-
sion and controversy about many matters of doctrine and
practice; therefore be it

Resolved, That the congregations and pastors apply
themselves to the study of Christology, in order that they
might better understand the implications and relative im-

- portance of other issues; and be it further

Resolved, That all of the members of our church body

seek to become mature in Christ, find their unity in Him, -

and do everything for the glory of His name.
