PASTORAL CONFERENCE Circuit 22 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DISTRICT KENNETH FUERBRINGER, Counselor Loge, Haak, Chairman RicHarp SCHINNERER, Secretary (5-43) To Establish Boundary Line of Ohio District in Kentucky Wuereas, The Ohio District of The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod, in convention assembled at Spring- field, Ohio, June 18, 1968, adopted a resolution to me- morialize the Synod to establish the boundary line of the Ohio District in the State of Kentucky; and Wuereas, The Ohio District Board of Directors had presented a suggested boundary line which was ten- tatively established by the leaders of the Ohio, Indiana. and Mid-South Districts, all of which have their geo- graphical boundary lines meeting in Kentucky: and WueREAS, This tentative boundary line was adopted by the Ohio District convention; therefore be it Resolved, That The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod, in convention assembled in Denver, Colorado, in 1969, establish the Ohio District boundary line in the State of Kentucky to follow a line starting at the Ohio River on the north, dividing Gallatin and Boone Coun- ties, and ending on the south boundary of the state on the line that divides Bell and Harlan Counties, the fol- lowing counties of the State of Kentucky to be included in the Ohio District: Boone Lewis Johnson Kenton Bath Lawrence Campbell Rowan Martin Grant Carter Floyd Pendleton Greenup Breathitt Bracken Menifee Knott Harrison Morgan Perry Robertson Elliott Leslie Mason Boyd Pike Nicholas Wolfe Letcher Fleming Magoffin Harlan OuHIo DISTRIcT WALTER O. PAscHE, Secretary (5-44) To Set Northern and Eastern Boundaries of Mid-South District Wuereas, The uncertainty of boundaries between the Indiana, Ohio, and Mid-South Districts in the State of Kentucky has impeded the mission outreach of the church in Kentucky and resulted in confusion with respect to areas of responsibility; and Wuereas, A cleariy defined boundary of the three Districts will be helpful to synodical boards and plan- ning groups within the Lutheran Council in the U.S. A.; therefore be it Resolved, That the Mid-South District request The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod at the Denver con- vention in 1969 to designate the following counties to be included in the northern boundary of the Mid-South District: Union, Webster, McLean, Ohio, Grayson, Hart, Green, Taylor, Casey, Pulaski, Rock Castle, Jackson, and Lee; and the following counties to be included as the eastern boundary: Lee, Owsley, Clay, and Bell. Miv-Soutu DIstTRIctT Paut H. Donner, Secretary (5-45) To Define District Boundaries in Kentucky Wuereas, Three Districts of The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod are engaged in missionary work within the State of Kentucky; and WuereEas, These Districts’ boundaries have never been specifically defined insofar as they affect work in Kentucky; and Wuereas, Many counties of Kentucky are without Lutheran witness and have not been the felt responsi- bility of any geographic District; and WuereAs, Discussions have been held between the mission executives of these Districts; and Wuereas, There is a common agreement on this mat- ter between the mission boards of the Ohio, Mid-South, and Indiana Districts; therefore The Indiana District approves the proposal of these three District mission boards and presents the same jointly with the Ohio and Mid-South Districts to the convention of the Synod meeting in 1969 at Denver for adoption.
