(Pastors Donald W. Buelow, Edgar F. Reh- waldt, and James S. Uhrinak have expressed themselves as opposed to this resolution.) Pastors, SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS AND SOUTH SUBURBAN CIRCUITS Minnesota South District Frep M. Miter, Secretary (3-26) To Declare Without Reservation Altar and Pulpit Fellowship Wuereas, The Holy Spirit has given to us and The American Lutheran Church a mutual understanding of the Gospel, the sacraments, and the Lutheran Con- fessions; and Wuereas, We should recognize publicly what God has done; therefore be it Resolved, That we declare without reservation altar and pulpit fellowship at the Denver convention and praise God together for His mercies in Christ Jesus. TrINIty LUTHERAN CONGREGATION Mission, Kans. Etmer BEHRENS, Secretary (3-27) To Adopt Full and Complete Fellowship with The American Lutheran Church Wuereas, This congregation has held full discussions in its own midst, with the local congregation and pastor of The American Lutheran Church, and with other pastors and laymen of said body; and Wuereas, The long history of relations and consulta- tions between our Synod and The American Lutheran Church and its antecedents demonstrates the long- standing desire of our Synod for closer affiliation, in- deed, for full altar and pulpit fellowship with the Amer- ican Lutheran Church; and Wuereas, The American Lutheran Church has like- wise expressed its sincere desire for such fellowship with our Synod; and Wuereas, The many meetings and discussions on all levels in and between both Lutheran bodies prove be- yond a doubt that there is a blessed and God-pleasing unity between our Synod and The American Lutheran Church in the fundamental areas of grace, the Holy Scriptures, and the church; therefore be it Resolved, That Grace Lutheran Church of Banning, Calif, and its pastor memorialize this convention to move for and adopt full and complete pulpit and altar fellowship with The American Lutheran Church. Grace LUTHERAN CHURCH Banning, Calif. KENNETH O, CHICKENING, President Martin W. Keck, Pastor (3-28) To Declare Fellowship at 1969 Convention InasmucH as, The Lord of the Church has led our two synods to recognize that a doctrinal consensus does exist among us based on the fundamental doctrines of Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions; and InasMucH as, Our pastors have had lengthy studies on the entire subject with fellow Lutheran clergy from The ALC and find this consensus to, in fact, exist; and INASMUCH as, Several local forums on this subject have been held in our own parish with a high degree of united opinion that, in fact, fellowship should be declared; and Inasmucu as, A March 2, 1969, panel-forum has been held with our sister parishes of The ALC, again accent- ing our united basis of doctrine; therefore be it Resolved, That we, members of St. Paul Lutheran Congregation of Mount Prospect, Ill, do praise God, who is the giver of every gift, especially unity in the church, declare our united attitude of encouragement to our District and synodical officials as to our position on fellowship with The ALC, and request that fellow- ship be declared at the 1969 Denver convention. Wuereas, Numerous discussions between officials of The Lutheran Church— Missouri Synod and The American Lutheran Church and their respective Dis- tricts (the most recent being Feb. 25—26, 1969) have repeatedly affirmed the doctrinal consensus that exists between our two church bodies; and Wuereas, No valid reasons have been put forth pro- hibiting church fellowship as an expression of the spiritual unity that exists between us by the grace of God; be it therefore Resolved, That The Lutheran Church — Missouri
