SuetFLow DOCUMENTATION FOR UNPRINTED MEMORIAL 719 [1015] Establishing Official Policy re Publication of ; District Proceedings Wuereas, The synodical Handbook (Constitution, Arti- cle V-A; Article VI-7; Article XII-2, -6, -10, -12, and -13; Bylaws 3.01) says that the various District conventions of Synod are considered to be conventions of Synod (al- though regional in scope of influence and authority); and WHEREAS, Historical research, such as is becoming in- creasingly more frequent in our circles, necessitates offi- cial source materials in accessible and usable form; and Wuereas, The synodical Handbook (1.37 and 2.39) makes provision therefor insofar as the Proceedings of Synod’s triennial conventions are concerned; and Wuereas, Although it is generally conceded that the Districts should do likewise with the Proceedings of their respective conventions, the synodical Handbook has made no provision for instruction to the District of Synod in this respect; and Wuereas, There is need for uniformity in the publica- tion of the Proceedings of District conventions in order properly to preserve such documents in a safe but usable form (ie., by having them bound together from time to time); therefore be it Resolved, To memorialize The Lutheran Church — Mis- souri Synod to establish an official policy regarding the publication of its respective Districts’ Proceedings.
