Wuereas, The matter of reprinting Dau’s translation of
Starck’s Prayer Book falls into the area governed by the General
Literature Board; therefore be it

Resolved, That this memorial be placed into the hands of the
General Literature Board for consideration and disposition.

Action: This resolution was adopted.

Publishing Beck’s Translation of the Bible

WuerEas, The matter of Beck’s translation of the Bible was
referred by the St. Paul convention of The Lutheran Church — Mis-
souri Synod to the Advisory Committee on English Bible Versions
(Proceedings, 1956, p. 607); and

Wuereas, The Advisory Committee on English Bible Versions
is awaiting the outcome of the action taken by the General Litera-
ture Board in this matter; and

Wuereas, The General Literature Board desires to take no
action on publishing Beck’s translation of the New Testament until
it receives the reaction to his translation The Christ of the Gospels;
therefore be it

Resolved, That this memorial be declined.
Action: This resolution was adopted.
