Wuereas, Advance Magazine is providing good and usable pro-
grams for the various congregational boards and committees; there-
fore be it

Resolved, That we commend the editorial committee and espe-
cially the editor, Rev. Elmer Kettner, for their efforts in reporting
successful programs and providing thoughtful suggestions for the
various congregational needs; and be it further

Resolved, That we urge all congregations to provide their
boards and committees with this helpful magazine; and be it finally

Resolved, That pastors and congregations continue to inform
the editorial committee as to the type of articles desired.

Action: This resolution was adopted.

Committee for Scholarly Research

RESOLUTION 7, COMMITTEE 8

Wuereas, The Committee for Scholarly Research presents a
record of valuable achievement during the past triennium; there-
fore be it

Resolved, To express the appreciation of this convention to
the Committee for Scholarly Research and to the participants in
its projects; and be it further

Resolved, To request the Survey Committee which may be
charged with realignment of Synod’s agencies to note that the
Committee for Scholarly Research is not exclusively engaged in
publication of literature, but also is active in the promotion of
research projects (note p. 425; compare pp. 565—566, Reports and
Memorials); and be it finally

Resolved, That the name of the Committee for Scholarly Re-
search be changed to “Committee for Research”; and that the
Handbook provisions 2.05a, 11.111, and the preceding title XLF be
duly changed.
