Practical Opportunity for Youth Service
RESOLUTION 10, COMMITTEE 5
Special Resolution

WHEREAS, Evangelism is an important task of the church; and

Wuereas, We need to train our youth in Christian witness-
ing; and

Wuereas, Our Synod has enthusiastically promoted Preaching-
Teaching-Reaching missions, every-member visits, and other such
opportunities to witness for Christ; and

Wuereas, Our synodical boards and committees have provided
excellent materials and programs for carrying on the great task
of Christian witnessing; therefore be it

Resolved, That the Synod encourage the congregations to
include the youth of the church in the visitations, canvasses, and
other such projects of their congregations.

Action: This resolution was adopted.

Commendation
RESOLUTION 11, COMMITTEE 5

Special Resolution

Wuereas, The Board for Young People’s Work and the Walther
League have worked in close and harmonious co-operation; and

Wuereas, The Board for Young People’s Work and the Walther
League have provided excellent materials and programs for general
leadership training and local society activity; and

Wuereas, Better stewardship, greater service, and closer fel-
lowship will surely result from the splendid work of the Board for
Young People’s Work and the Walther League, and the Synod will
be greatly blessed as in the past by the interest and activity of the
young people of the church; therefore be it

Resolved, That the Synod commend the Board for Young Peo-.
ple’s work and the Walther League for their fine contribution to
the life of the church; and be it further

Resolved, That the Synod encourage every District Youth Com-
mittee and youth leader to continue this important work; and be
it finally

Resolved, That the Synod in convention at San Francisco send
official greetings to the convention of the International Walther
League, which will be in session July 12 to July 16 at East Lansing,
Mich.
