avenues in which the interests and concerns of the college
family can be freely communicated within the parameters
of the synodical Handbook; and be it further

Resolved, That the Boards of Regents give appropriate
attention to this resolution.

RESOLUTION 6-20

Overture 6-74 (CW, p. 258)

Wuereas, Valparaiso University has a long and unique
association with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
(LCMS); and

Wuereas, A number of members of our congregations
are teacher graduates of Valparaiso University; and

Wuereas, The present Bylaws allow for certification of
Valparaiso graduates to the Synod’s roster only through
the colloquy program; therefore be it

Resolved, That this matter be referred to the Board for
Higher Education Services (BHES) for study of alternate
certification procedures for Valparaiso graduates and that
they report to the 1992 synodical convention in regard to
this matter.
