Of the LCMS and LCC it can also be said, “Children of a common father.” Through our common faith in the one and only Son of God, we have become children of one Fa- ther, the one who created us, redeemed us and still pre- serves us. That common faith also gives us a common mission: to tell everyone what He has done. On behalf of the grateful people of Lutheran Church— Canada, I wish to present to The Lutheran Church—Mis- souri Synod a gift which seeks to symbolize our partnership in that worldwide mission. On the floor beneath me is a large globe. On one side, we have inscribed the theme from our own constituting convention, “Our Lord for Every Land.” On the other is the theme from this convention, “Tell Everyone What He Has Done.” It is our wish that this gift be placed somewhere in the area of the President’s office as a reminder that everyone in this Synod, from the President to the member in the pew, is entrusted with this never-ending global responsibility for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And may it further be a reminder that in this holy task, we are partners, not only joint heirs of the gift of salvation but also children of a common Father. In closing, let me congratulate you, Dr. Bohlmann, and all others who have been or will be elected to positions of service. We look forward to a continuation of the cooper- ation and support we’ve enjoyed in the past. May God continue to bless our partnership and use each of us mightily for His purpose. We love you. We thank God for you. God bless you! E. Lehman, President
