Lutheran Hour Support

Wuereas, The Lutheran Hour, Bringing Christ to the Nations,
by God’s grace for seventeen years been privileged to render
iitstanding service to The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod in
claiming the Savior’s Gospel throughout the world and making
Church widely and favorably known as a Scripture-preaching,
ospel-loving, Christ-exalting denomination; and

'.- Wuereas, God’s overflowing blessing has visibly rested upon
‘this radio mission, so that at the time of the sainted Dr. Walter A.
Maier’s homegoing, broadcasts were carried each week in thirty-
languages over more than 1,100 stations, located in fifty-one
erent countries; and

Wuereas, This gigantic activity has been carried on at a cost
f approximately a million and a half dollars a year without any
pense to Synod’s treasury; and

_Wuergeas, Present-day economic conditions make the con-
ued financing of so vast an enterprise increasingly difficult;
herefore be it

: Resolved, That the Lutheran Laymen’s League through its
ecutive Board petition the synodical convention of The Lutheran
hurch — Missouri Synod to urge all of our congregations to sup-
rt the Lutheran Hour even more energetically and enthusiasti-
cally, on a regular and systematic basis, so that the blessed work
f proclaiming the Gospel over the radio may continue to grow
and flourish, to the glory of God, for the preaching of His Gospel,
-and the salvation of preciously bought souls.
