Remodeling of the Old Music Building at River Forest as an Addition to the Administration Building The old Music Building at River Forest, completed in 1913 a a long since inadequate for the purpose for which it was built, wil be available for academic and administrational use when the new Music Building, allowed by the synodical convention of 1947, B. completed. We propose that this building be rehabilitated and a part remodeled as a sorely needed addition to our present Ad nin: istration and Classroom Building. , 4 The rehabilitation will include replastering or otherwise surfacing all of the ceilings and nearly all walls of the building with the exception of the auditorium-chapel and the sciencd laboratories, which have already been taken care of. All interig woodwork, including floors, will need repair and refinishing, an all wiring and lighting will have to be replaced or modernized a a safety measure. With these improvements the building shou be very serviceable for many years to come. The remodeling needed will be comparatively little, consisting largely of the removal of a number of partitions to convert old organ practice rooms into larger units for classroom use. available space, according to our plans, will be devoted to a varie of urgent purposes. The building is conveniently situated for class; room and administrative functions. Its central corridor is already the chief passage between the present Administration Building the new Library, the Chapel, and the science laboratories. Request: We respectfully request that up to $25,000 be allowe for the remodeling and the rehabilitation of the old Music Builé ing as a much-needed addition to the Administration Buildin Tue Boarp oF CONTROL or ConcorpiaA TEACHERS COLLEGE Pavut L.
