Report of Concordia Historical Institute
(Memorial 1002)
The Board of Directors of Concordia Historical Institute, the
depository of the historical antiquities of our Synod, begs
to make the following report:
uring the past triennium, owing partly to the war but chiefly
jthe rising cost of building, we have done nothing towards
ecting a museum of our own. Fortunately, in spite of the
ed conditions at Concordia Seminary, the Board of Control
ble to give us the use of a room in the Administration Build-
g, a small room formerly used for storage purposes, Though
- working space was severely limited in this room, we were
a
to have it, as otherwise we would have been forced to
move off the campus, thus adding undue expense for our treasury
depriving the students and others of the use of our facilities.
We are happy to report that in spite of these limited quarters
e work of collecting: historical treasures and cataloguing what
e have has made excellent progress. In an increasing measure
e have been in a position to render service to those engaged in
torical research in and outside our Synod. Our archives, and
e facilities we offer, together with our Quarterly, enjoy a good
putation in our country.

Our Curator has been very active in much-needed research
work and has made valuable contributions to our periodicals.
At the same time, through lectures and personal contacts, he has
one a great deal to arouse among our people a healthy interest
